Prairie Region

Sierra Club Canada Foundation has been working to develop a network of community leaders protecting the integrity of Prairie ecosystems. Our dedicated volunteers focus on local issues important to their communities and act as proactive advocates for the environment. 


Edmonton and Area Wild Child Program

Wild Child programs provide child led, play based learning through repeated exposure to nature helping to foster a lasting relationship with the natural world. We offer three programs: Nature Immersion, Eco-Buddies, and Forest Schools (coming soon)All programs incorporate outdoor free play, exploration and discovery, and nature based activities. Conservation and Preservation of Natural Areas

Sierra Club Canada Foundation has been instrumental in advocating for green areas in urban settings for years in Alberta’s capital region. Natural areas we have been involved with include the North Saskatchewan River Valley, Whitemud Creek, Charlesworth tree stand, Big Island and Bigger Island natural areas.
